But one thing I’ve never seen before is this extra large praying mantis with wings and a colorful body.

About the blonde gardener

I'm an Arkansas girl born and raised. I garden in the beautiful Northwest part of the state (zone 6b or 7) surrounded by the Ozark Mountains. My favorite part about the area is we have 4 distinct seasons and are able to enjoy a variety of activities. My main passion is gardening but I also enjoy hiking, birding, 4-wheeling and motorcycle trips. Basically anything outside. Thanks for stopping by! Brenda

Your Asters look lovely, Brenda! I have been cutting Asters and Mums to fill crocks with Autumn color. Beautyberry is new to me. So, I’ll have to learn more about it! Have a wonderful Autumn weekend! ♡

  2. I’m all about the asters in fall! Sadly I have no flowering dogwood berries, that species is not quite hardy here. I have other dogwoods, but the berries are just not as good.

I so agree with you that nature is amazing. You have some very lovely signs of fall at your place. I have never seen a praying mantis that looked like that. Thanks for sharing the picture of it, he sure looks big. Hugs

Nature really is amazing and each season has its own beauty. The Fall colors are wonderful right now, especially on these sunny days. And the asters. Oh, the asters!

  5. Great to see fall still going somewhere….
