A Perf-Ticked Day

As I’m looking back on our vacation at the lake,  I’m realizing that R & R means something totally different to toddlers.

Our 3-year-old granddaughter was one of our guests at the lake.  I’m pretty sure her idea of a vacation is to see how tired she could make Grandma.

I can assure you it didn’t take long.

This is a sampling of our day.

Hallie-3 yrs. old

Get up and snuggle with Grandma.

Get dressed and go down two sets of stairs to look for “squareils”

Find “squareils” and chase them around.

I think we wore him out

Go back up two sets of stairs and eat Fruit “Woops”.

Get our swimming “soup” on and go down two sets of stairs to swim.

Go up two sets of stairs and eat “wunch”.

Go down two sets of stairs and go to the playground.

hallie

Go up two sets of stairs to get a snack.

Go down two sets of stairs and take a boat ride.

hallie hallie hallie

Go up two sets of stairs and eat supper.

Go down two sets of stairs, take a walk and collect “tweasures”.

our “tweasures”

Go up two sets of stairs to get that “fang” to make “smarshmellows”.

Go down two sets of stairs and make “smarshmellows”.

Go up two sets of stairs and get ready for bed.

Repeat for 6 days.

Anyone else tired?

But, how can I tell this face no?

hallie 3 yrs. old

I can’t.

And as the sun goes down, we snuggle up on the couch and “member” all of our adventures.

Then she looks up at me and tells me it was a “perf-ticked” day.

And those little words alone, give me strength to do it again the next day.

I just love that kid.

About the blonde gardener

I'm an Arkansas girl born and raised. I garden in the beautiful Northwest part of the state (zone 6b or 7) surrounded by the Ozark Mountains. My favorite part about the area is we have 4 distinct seasons and are able to enjoy a variety of activities. My main passion is gardening but I also enjoy hiking, birding, 4-wheeling and motorcycle trips. Basically anything outside. Thanks for stopping by! Brenda

You’re not suposed to say “No!” As Grandma, you say “Yes!”. That’s your job. Mom & Dad’s job is to say “No!” It’s not a perfect system but it does work. 🙂

To think that some people pay for gym memberships and do this sort of thing alone on boring machines. You’re a fortunate woman to have such an adorable personal trainer!
