I am pleasantly surprised to announce  that Jason from Gardeninacity nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award.   This award is given for the purpose of increasing awareness and readership of garden blogs in general.

As a new blogger, I am surprised and honored that someone other than my paid sweet family and friends actually read the blog.   I’m also in awe of all the great garden bloggers out there sharing their garden experiences.  We all bring different perspectives to the virtual table and I love reading them all.

To accept the nomination I have to:  list 7 random facts about myself , nominate 10 of my favorite blogs (and notify the bloggers), and encourage you to visit their sites.   From beginners to experts, there are so many different aspects to explore in these gardening blogs.  Some are just beautiful photographs and others explore the ‘how comes’ and the ‘what fors’ of  the garden world.  Also, be sure and check out Gardeninacity.  His gardens are gorgeous and make me want to redo all my flower beds.

My 10 favorite garden blogs I would like to nominate

Beautiful Wildlife Gardens

Flea Market Gardening

Seasonal Wisdom

Arkansas Native Plant Society

The Imperfect Gardener

Larrapin Garden

From Lynn’s Garden

P. Allen Smith

In the Garden with Janet Carson

Roses and other Gardening Joys

7 Random Facts about me

I don’t like raisins

My first car was a blue ‘vette’  (Chevette)

I was a nun in the school musical Sound of Music

I’d rather read than watch TV

I’ve always had a cat in my life

I sing really loud in the car

I still like disco music

P.S.  I would also like to thank my shovel and trowel for without them this nomination would not be possible.

About the blonde gardener

I'm an Arkansas girl born and raised. I garden in the beautiful Northwest part of the state (zone 6b or 7) surrounded by the Ozark Mountains. My favorite part about the area is we have 4 distinct seasons and are able to enjoy a variety of activities. My main passion is gardening but I also enjoy hiking, birding, 4-wheeling and motorcycle trips. Basically anything outside. Thanks for stopping by! Brenda
