A few weeks ago, I decided to have a garden shed/chicken coop built.

I’ve always wanted a few chickens

And some extra space for miscellaneous garden stuff

I’m really excited about the roof, though

The lower roof will be a living roof! Will keep you posted on the progress.
67 days till spring!

P.S. Check back later this week for another seed give away!

About the blonde gardener
I'm an Arkansas girl born and raised. I garden in the beautiful Northwest part of the state (zone 6b or 7) surrounded by the Ozark Mountains. My favorite part about the area is we have 4 distinct seasons and are able to enjoy a variety of activities.
My main passion is gardening but I also enjoy hiking, birding, 4-wheeling and motorcycle trips. Basically anything outside.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a neat project! And near to my heart since I share the dream. I’ll look forward to how it finishes out. And a living roof! Can’t wait!
I’m very excited about this. I have been planning this for about a year. Going kind of slow as my builder is also working for my dad and only comes by when he has extra time. I’m getting impatient!
Great project! Chickens are lots of fun & your building looks like it will be wonderful!
thanks! I’m really excited about it.
Ok, sorry to have to ask – what is a living roof? lol
Hey Brenda! It’s a roof that will be covered in plants. They are also called green roofs.
that’s fantastic! I can’t wait to see the chickens and the living roof!
I’m excited, too!
Totally jealous…I need a Big Girl Playhouse!
Can’t wait to see it finished!
I’m going to be gone this week so I can’t wait to see the progress when I get back!
67 days to SPRING!!! Oh, I need to begin the count down for myself!!!

Couldn’t help but notice your shed/chicken coop is larger than a lot of the houses in the Tiny House movement.which, for some reason, fascinates me. I can’t wait for you to get it finished and get the some chickens. I LOVE CHICKENS although I don’t have any. Looking forward to see photos of chickens on your blog. Are you going to get more than one kind of chicken? A rooster? My neighbor’s rooster crows off and on all day.
No Rooster! Had one a long time ago and he crowed ALL night long! The building will be half chicken coop and half garden shed. It will have a loft hopefully for the grandkids to have a hide out. Not sure what kind of chickens I’m getting yet. Looking at sex-links right now. Will keep you updated
